FIL and MIL got here at about 10pm on Friday night. They stayed up and visited with us until almost one in the morning. Saturday morning we all woke up around 8am and I made eggs and bacon and hashbrowns with fruit for breakfast. Then we got dressed and drove all around town showing them everything around us, from the airport to the mall, then to downtown Neenah and to Oshkosh where we are planning on moving next year, everything in and out of Jack's work and we even stopped by my Uncle Pete's hangar at the airport in Oshkosh. It was pretty low key.
We came back from the exploring and took naps and then went to church on Saturday night. We sat in the front row and FIL was texting on his phone throughout the whole service and MIL started crying as we walked out of the church. Other than that, nothing bad happened. Nothing even NOTEWORTHY happened. Who are these people? Have they suddenly morphed back into the people that we used to know and love?? Thank the Lord for this miraculous transformation!! Not one sly remark was made the entire trip, not even one dirty look. Not one time did they think something nasty and bite their tongue and have a hissy fit, it was unbelievable. It has been such a pleasant visit, it is so hard to believe!
I'm was supposed to be doing Sun Harbor (working with the infants at church) Sunday morning but before I got sick I decided not to so that we could be together the whole weekend with his parents so they never had a chance to corner him. Then of course I got sick and have not completely gotten over whatever this cold seems to be. I'm still hacking and blowing my nose and coughing a bit.
Oh yeah, one more thing they were doing that was super annoying: They would NOT STOP talking about how LOOOOONG of a drive it is. UH NO KIDDING. We've made the trip now ... hmmm....

ALMOST EVERY MONTH SINCE WE MOVED!
The only reason it even irritates me is that FIL made the comment "Don't make a big production out of it, just shoot out here and go back the next day!" (About us not having enough money to go to his Grandma's funeral And they're suffering from doing it in a weekend like we did, only they took Friday to travel, when some trips that we have driven to Michigan, we drive through the night on Friday night, getting into town in Michigan at 3 or 4 in the morning and then driving home all day Sunday. Yeah, THAT is really freaking unpleasant. But we'll try not to make a big production out of it as we drive 550 miles ONE WAY.
I want them to drive South through Milwaukee and Chicago and even if they don't see any traffic, I want them to see just how exhausting the drive really is. And how much of a "production" it is. Gah. I really need to let that comment go.
*smacks forehead*
ANYWAY in GREAT news... which I guess I should have started this blog with ....
I prayed for my period to stop and after 18 days it stopped yesterday!!!!
AND
I prayed for a musical church service for when MIL and FIL came, especially for MIL because she connects so well with the music and the church service last night had one of the most musical services in a long time. Unfortunately MIL didn't connect with it as well as I would have hoped, but God performed two miracles just for me in the same day.
All I could do was just sit in church and use every bit of energy and my voice that I had left to sing His praise because how amazing is it in a lifetime to have an answered prayer and I had TWO in one day! Well three!!!! Because his parents were truly and completely changed people this whole weekend and that is one ENORMOUS feat. Of course, not too big for God, but to care and to love Jack and I so much that He would use the Holy Spirit to help change these two people we love and care for, we are truly blessed in every sense of the word!!

I have a lot of IL drama myself. So much so, that I had to start an entirely separate blog just to be able to vent my frustrations. I am glad you had a good visit. Anything is possible with God in the driver's seat.
