long day

I woke up early to clean my apartment the rest of the way before church and barely made it out the door on time... had a good church service but we really aren't all jazzed about the church so we're going to keep church shopping.

My cousin Mike and his girlfriend Jen had come along to check out the church with us and then came back to our place for lunch. I made potato leek soup and bread bowls last night so I just had to heat everything up and serve it. They stayed and visited for a little while and Jen and I caught up and I told her about my doctor's appointment and we chatted about Jack's brother and his fiance for a little while. Then we got to talking about the church service and my cousin was talking about how he was raised Catholic and Jen was raised Presbyterian and that they weren't so sure about the non-denominational church.

We continued talking about the different churches we had been to and Mike goes on to say, "I believe in God and everything... I just don't know about the whole Jesus thing." Hmm... I said well, I don't know if you will find what you are looking for in a Christian church then. :/

Then they left to go back to their lives and I baked a cake for Jack's birthday... of course instead of something nice and from scratch he wants a $0.99 cake mix and store bought frosting... so I make it cause it's his birthday.

I took some videos of singing and blowing out the candles... of course the cake is so bright you can hardly see anything but they're cute. I'm sure his family will appreciate being a part of the birthday celebration even though they're 500 miles away.

I called the mother in law and talked to her for a long while, we haven't chatted in quite some time so it was nice to catch up. She seemed to be in a very good mood, things had gone sour again for a while, so Jack and I had just backed off and now they seem pretty normal again. I let her know that I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday at which they are going to do fertility tests to figure out what's wrong with me. She gave her advice as far as natural vs synthetic prescriptions.

Now it's 6:30 and I couldn't be more exhausted. I just want to go to bed for the night.

So I will take a nap and if it turns into all night... so be it.
