Vacation this weekend

Our anniversary is on Monday & we were planning a vacation this weekend to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to a little house on a lake for Jack and I and our two friends and their dog too. And I've been waiting for our friends to back out all week since I asked them to come too last week. Sure as gold, I just got a text message from her saying her husband doesn't feel well so they aren't going to go if he's sick. Why do they even say they'll go when they never wanted to go in the first place?? I don't understand the insanity of our friendship with them. I knew when she said they'd love to go that they were going to back out. I already knew it.

I'm not sure if Jack and I are still going to go, we were talking about going to Michigan for Thanksgiving too. I'm not sure if we are going to end up doing it but Jack's mom is really struggling with the loss of her parents this past summer and Thanksgiving is going to be rough on her. And gas prices are down a lot but I'm not sure I'm up for a trip so soon again and just in case there would be poor weather! Eek. I'm not sure.

We told his mom we had no place to keep the cat, and that's the truth. We could always ask Lindsey & Craig to watch the kitty but I don't want to impose and all that jazz. Really we don't want to go. I think we're just going to stay here for Thanksgiving.

I have been straightening this place all morning and it feels good to feel like getting out of bed!! I need to go to the store some time today to get Jack's anniversary present!

EEK. It is unbelievable that our anniversary is on Monday!! I can't believe we've been married for a year already! I already guessed what he bought me (pearl earrings!!) I haven't opened them yet but I am super excited! He got them to match the size of my necklace that he bought me on Sweetest day!

I'm hungry and I should probably shower and get on the road today to go to Walmart to buy some presents for DH :) I also wanted to go to Linens and Things.

What to eat what to eat. Well I made a ton of Chili yesterday so I think I should probably just heat some of that up. YUM.
