it's a beautiful life: It is a beautiful day!!

I got up early and woke up to the beautiful sunshine! I cleaned the kitchen and then made scrambled eggs and potato pancakes for breakfast. They weren't as good or as pretty as at a breakfast restaurant but I'm pretty sure that is because they were grilled on a griddle instead of deep fried.

Then I went up to Old Navy to go buy some summer clothes because I heard they were having a sale. It wasn't as big of a sale as I had hoped, but, I needed summer clothes badly, so I bought some on sale capris and those $5 old navy tshirts/tank tops.

I have also decided that I absolutely have to lose weight. I am at my highest weight by far. I think it's because I am not active at all... and I used to be a server and I used to run... so I at least need to add running into my schedule again. I want to run a 5k this fall and I am bound and determined to do it in under 30 minutes!!

This afternoon I have been working on my Patriotic Pinwheel Quilt and as I was quilting it I decided that I was going to give it to my Mother-In-Law. Her mom died last September (or was it October?) ... and her moms birthday was the 4th of July, so I know that day is going to be really hard for her. And I made the Patriotic Pinwheel Quilt out of the fabric that MIL gave me that was her mom's... so even though I am absolutely in love with it... I am going to mail it to her for a surprise because I think it will mean more to her than it does to me.

I quilted the pinwheel part in a weird stars and swirls type thing... I had seen it before but of course I am a beginner so it doesn't look as crisp as when a big computer programmed long arm quilting machine does it... but whatever. I did it on my machine on my table!
